AI-BRIDGES is a research programme at the Digital Humanities Research Hub (DHRH), School of Advanced Study (SAS), University of London (UoL), directed by Dr. Shani Evenstein Sigalov. It focuses on the creating bridges between institutional data, Linked Open Data platforms (such as Wikidata & Wikibase) and AI systems. The main goal of the project is building methods and models that let cultural, scholarly and community knowledge be used well by AI, rather than flattened by it.
AI-BRIDGES is funded by the European Commission through a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Research Fellowship (Grant ID 101203096). The first phase of the technical development released here was funded by Wikimedia Switzerland (WMCH), and delivered by Pleias, in close collaboration with Wikimedia Deutschland (WMDE). Compute was provided through grant n°AD011014736R2 on the Jean Zay cluster.
We'd also like to thank our other core-partners, Wikimedia UK & Wikimedia Brasil for their ongoing support, as well as multiple other partners: individuals, institutions and organizations workting with us around the world and being part of the AI-BRIDGES journey. A final special Thank You is saved for Prof. Jane Winters, Director of the Digital Humanities Research Hub at the UoL for her ongoing support.
