Understanding canine hemangiosarcoma — the deadliest cancer in golden retrievers.
Hemangiosarcoma (HSA) is often detected late and standard care has not improved survival (~4-6 months) in decades. With no curative pipeline near deployment, our focus is understanding its biology and genetics — an open HSA research corpus plus the genomics analyses it enables. Anchored on the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study. HSA is a vascular-endothelial tumor (the human vascular-endothelial cancer is angiosarcoma); we study the canine disease on its own terms and make no translational claims.
All research lives in one flagship repo: gr-hemangiosarcoma — corpus, GWAS/PRS + variant annotation, the multimodal HSA risk model, and the histopathology MIL infrastructure. GitHub org: github.com/golden-retrievers.
